For today's letter, I want to highlight an interesting video I recently watched by Oladimeji Ajegbile. In it, the host Dimeji has a candid conversation with his wife Mopelola, looking back on their whirlwind romance. They share the journey of profound personal growth they each went through before meeting, and how that prepared them for a strong, healthy marriage just nine months after they first connected. Here are some of my biggest takeaways:
Sometimes when you follow God's path, things may not make sense right away - and truthfully, there will be days when the journey feels confusing or unclear. Trusting God doesn't always align with our human logic or desired timelines, but staying faithful means believing His plan supersedes our limited understanding.
Isaiah 55: 8 (AMP)“For My thoughts are not your thoughts,Nor are your ways My ways,” declares the Lord. 9“For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways And My thoughts higher than your thoughts.”
It is amazing how attentive God is, listening to even our most fleeting thoughts and considerations that we may deem unimportant. But to Him, nothing is trivial - the details we overlook carry just as much weight.
Psalms 139:13 (AMP)¶For You formed my innermost parts; You knit me [together] in my mother’s womb.
It's so important that we recognize our weaknesses, to actively ask God to reveal those areas to you, and then continually work on improving them. Understanding that addressing your shortcomings doesn't just benefit you personally, but also positively impacts those around you. This brings to mind the verse.,
Psalm 139: 23 (AMP)¶Search me [thoroughly], O God, and know my heart; Test me and know my anxious thoughts; 24And see if there is any wicked or hurtful way in me, And lead me in the everlasting way.In the end, that commitment to growth makes us better people, partners, and parts of the Body of Christ.
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding, in all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your path.
